Biography: Helen is an experienced Health and Safety Professional and New Zealand Registered Nurse. She commenced her career in health and safety in 2004 in the gas and electricity distribution industries after a long career in Nursing and later, Patient Safety. She has since applied her skills and knowledge in local and central government, electricity generation, civil construction, roading and primary health, gaining industry training and qualifications as she has progressed. Helen combines strong systems and policy development skills with an extensive background in operational quality and safety which since moving in to the consulting environment, she has utilised to assist organisations to create industry-specific, integrated health and safety solutions. Helen has a particular interest in occupational health and the management of health risk in the workplace. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from Massey University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences from Otago University and never tires of learning and expanding her knowledge base. She lives in rural Wairarapa with her husband, 2 dogs and 4 sheep.
